Taupo 2017 Cactus & Succulent

AGM & Get-Together

You are invited to attend the 69th Annual AGM and Get-Together to be held at the Acacia Bay Community Hall, Taupo on Saturday 25th February

*There are no formal events organized for the Friday and registration will commence from 8 am Saturday morning

at the Hall.

*Sunday will be free so that registrants can visit local sights at their own pace – take the opportunity to enjoy a hot pool, walk along the lake, or visit Taupo’s many tourist attractions, including Ed Mroczek’s collection (being the one and only CSSNZ Taupo member).

*Plant sales will be carried out ‘car boot’ style if there is a demand before the start of the AGM (9 am) over the breaks and after 4 pm. There will be no commission on plant sales.

*There is no accommodation associated with this venue, which is located about 10 minutes from downtown Taupo. However, there is endless choice from the luxurious Hilton down to the basic backpackers (or you can sleep under the stars at Ed’s place). All attendees will need to make their own arrangements for accommodation.

Take a relaxing weekend break in Taupo this summer with a day of sharing plants, food and talk, along with time to explore Taupo’s natural attractions and many tourist activities

*The Saturday registration will be $80 which covers the Hall costs, a catered lunch and dinner (BYO alcohol) on the Saturday. Morning and afternoon teas will be packet biscuits.

*This Get-Together will follow the hallowed tradition set by Rudolf Schulz & Christina Terzieff (2012 & 2013 conferences) where the participants are the presenters!

All talks will be between 10 to 30 minutes long and the theme will be ‘Sharing Experiences’. In other words, anything that is new or different for the presenter, be it from travel, visits, learning or from personal experiences with the plants we all admire and grow. We need to have a selection of topics. The style is informal but a computer and digital projector will be available for presenters.
